About Us

Aecon Nuclear provides a full spectrum of Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) services, in addition to maintenance and manufacturing services tailored to meet the demanding requirements of the nuclear power industry.
The joint venture between SNC-Lavalin and Aecon has been awarded an Extended Services Master Services Agreement (ESMSA) with Ontario Power Generation (OPG) for projects at both the Pickering & Darlington Nuclear Generating Stations.

Reporting to the Assistant Project Controls Manager and Project Controls Manager, the Project Controls Co-Op will be responsible in providing project control support to ongoing projects and supporting the company’s estimating and construction teams to ensure that the company’s project control system is properly implemented and utilized. This position is looking to fill IN-PERSON and REMOTE positions.

What is the Opportuinity?

• Provide support to other Project Control team members
• Assist in organizing meetings, taking minutes & tracking action items
• Liaise with external groups (Accounting, Finance, Procurement,  Construction, etc.) to gain inputs into Project Controls reports
• Assist in report creation, maintenance & issuance
• Gain technical knowledge in all areas of Project Controls by shadowing team members
• Complete all Aecon University Project Controls introductory courses
• Assist with control account management tasks such as cost code creation/closure & chart of accounts maintenance
• Assist in capturing daily/weekly progress into project schedules
• Assist in exporting project schedule data for inputs into other reporting
• Assist in creating lookahead schedules & schedule based reports to support detailed shift planning
• Support the development of detailed, resource-loaded schedules
• Participate in risk review meetings
• Assist in updating the risk register
• Assist in preparing inputs for risk modeling

What You Bring to the Team:

• Minimum 2nd year in a College Program or University degree in a related field. (Preference given to construction, engineering, and business programs).
• Intermediate to expert proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
• Passion for problem solving.
• Organizational skills to handle multiple tasks within a high-pressure work site environment.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and oral).
• Ability to work effectively with all levels of management and employees.
• Willingness for continuous learning and advancement of technical knowledge.
• Detail oriented and customer focused.
