Description
- Leading and overseeing the culinary operations of the hotel's multiple dining establishments, including fine dining restaurants, banquet facilities, and room service, all with a coastal flair.
- Developing and executing innovative menus that celebrate the region's seafood, locally-sourced ingredients, and culinary traditions while meeting the diverse tastes and preferences of our guests.
- Managing and mentoring a team of talented chefs, cooks, and kitchen staff, providing training, guidance, and inspiration to ensure a high standard of culinary excellence.
- Maintaining strict quality control standards in food preparation, presentation, and taste.
- Collaborating with the food and beverage team to create and manage budgets, control costs, and maximize profitability while showcasing the best of Nova Scotia's culinary treasures.
- Ensuring compliance with all food safety and sanitation regulations, as well as maintaining a safe and clean kitchen environment.
- Establishing and maintaining strong vendor relationships to source high-quality ingredients and products unique to our coastal locale.
- Contributing to the development of promotional and marketing strategies to attract and retain guests through exceptional dining experiences.
Requirements
- Proven experience as an Executive Chef or a high-level culinary leadership role in a luxury coastal hotel or fine dining restaurant.
- Culinary degree or equivalent certification.
- Strong culinary creativity and innovation, with a passion for celebrating local flavors and ingredients.
- Exceptional leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a diverse team.
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A commitment to maintaining the highest standards of food quality and safety.
