Description:
Peterborough Housing Corporation (PHC) is the largest single provider of community housing in the City and County of Peterborough. We provide rent-geared-to-income and affordable housing for seniors, single adults, and families. This means that PHC provides homes to well over 4,000 residents in our community. Our housing is a mix of high-rise apartments, townhomes, walk-up apartments, semi-detached homes, and quad-plexes. PHC employs approximately 40 committed and compassionate employees who provide support to the tenants.
PHC is wholly owned by the City of Peterborough. As its shareholder, the City provides PHC with a shareholder direction which outlines fundamental principles that govern business. In addition, the City of Peterborough is the designated service manager for housing and homelessness and as such motions passed at city council are considered directions that also govern PHC’s work.
The Opportunity
We are seeking an inclusive and relational leader to be the next Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for PHC. Reporting to the Board of Directors, the CEO will drive its future, taking bold action to implement innovative, continuous improvement initiatives while fostering a collaborative and engaged workplace culture. With a deep understanding of the social and health delivery model, the CEO will prioritize tenant well-being and ensure holistic service delivery.
Leading PHC operations, the CEO will provide strategic financial sustainability advising the board on strategic plans, budgets, and policies aligned with city goals. A visionary leader, the CEO will formulate short and long-term strategies, leveraging resources and ensuring PHC’s mission through continuous improvement and fiscal sustainability.
A team builder and inspirational leader, the CEO will foster an engaged, accountable, and diverse team culture while championing new community development and long-term sustainability, in collaboration with the new municipal services corporation and the City of Peterborough. Ideal candidates will have an understanding and passion for community housing complemented with a bachelor’s degree in social work, public administration, business, or equivalent.
The CEO will build, impactful relationships with the City and County of Peterborough and the community it serves. Collaborating with our tenants, staff, board, stakeholders, partners, and the public, this leader will craft bonds built on trust, understanding, and shared aspirations. The candidate will ignite passion and the strength of staff. This initiative goes beyond mere public relations; it encompasses genuine representation, strategic transformation, and forward momentum.
