Office of the Registrar

(One Year Contractual position)

DUTIES

Reporting to the Team Lead, Scheduling, and working closely with the University Timetablers, the Student Systems Specialist (Scheduling Support) will be responsible for the accurate and timely processing of complex student related academic information, requiring considerable independent judgement. Duties include preparing semester class schedules including proofing, coding, and correcting of errors before activating class schedule on Memorial Student Self Service; assisting students, faculty, and staff with scheduling related matters via phone and email; assisting with the development of the exam schedule; liaising with and providing advice to academic departments regarding scheduling related matters; coordinating ad-hoc bookings to shared classroom spaces; editing and distributing memos and other communications to academic departments; maintaining the University classroom space inventory; providing process improvement suggestions to the Associate Registrar or Manager; and performing other related duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS

Experience (1-3 years) in a support role including updating data on a highly rules-based Student Information System (SIS), preparing reports, scheduling, or business administration; completion of a 2-year diploma in office or business administration or records management; or any equivalent combination of experience and training. The successful candidate will possess strong organizational skills, effective communication and problem solving skills, and the ability to work with strict and tight timelines within a team environment and independently. Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, especially Word and Excel, is required. Knowledge of a Student Information System (SIS), such as Banner Student or similar; academic scheduling principles and processes; software-based scheduling solutions (Infosilem, TimeTabler, Exam or similar); and University academic calendar regulations, policies and procedure are assets.

SALARY $48,341 - $56,707 per annum (CUPE Local 1615)
