TKI is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to join our team in Kelowna, BC. You are an ideal candidate if you have 5+ years’ experience as a Project Manager, have worked on complex, multi-million-dollar commercial projects, are a strong people leader, and excel at mentoring others. As an integral part of the project team, the Senior Project Manager is responsible for executing all aspects of project management, from estimating to bidding to project closeout. You will lead and coach the project team including superintendents, project coordinators, subcontractors, and suppliers to achieve project objectives. Working alongside other Project Managers, you will manage and mentor project coordinators to ensure that project milestones are accurately tracked and that the schedules are managed to achieve project goals. As a highly organized individual, you can seamlessly multi-task as you manage multiple projects at one time, solve problems creatively, and build a cohesive project team.
Additional responsibilities will include:
- Promote a culture of health, safety, and environmental protection to achieve compliance with TKI Construction HS&E standards, applicable OH&S Acts, regulations, and codes;
- Implement project start-up systems and procedures including, master filing system, project billings, cost accounting system, and project directory;
- Perform general administrative and record-keeping functions including, the review and distribution of documentation; preparation of correspondence and meeting minutes; maintenance of files, logs, drawings, specifications, submittals, and RFIs;
- Support the subcontract management/procurement process through the tendering and awarding of work or supply materials, process invoices, and progress claims, and assist with reviewing documents and inquiries;
- Coordinate the change order management process by securing pricing from the vendor/subcontractor, reviewing and inputting the data, submitting change requests for approval, and following through with subcontract change orders/purchase orders as directed;
- Track project milestones; control and prepare detailed project schedule;
- Lead, coach, and collaborate with the project team, including superintendents, project coordinators, subcontractors, and suppliers, to achieve project objectives;
- Manage and build client relationships while respectfully addressing client expectations;
- Prepare for project closeout by collecting warranties, O&M manuals, and occupancy documents; create turnover documents and archives documents;
- Perform other related duties as required.
Requirements
- Degree in Civil Engineering, Applied Science Technologist of BC Diploma or equivalent;
- 5+ years in Project Manager role;
- Management of multi-million dollar commercial, institutional, residential, and light civil projects;
- Demonstrated working knowledge of construction documents, estimates, drawings, specifications, and current construction practices and methodology;
- Previous use of macOS and Autodesk is an asset;
- Strong written and verbal skills with the ability to communicate clearly and collaboratively with multiple project stakeholders;
- Capable of identifying issues and generating solutions to complex challenges;
- Willing to contribute actively in team discussions, sharing experiences and ideas;
- Strong organizational and planning skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively;
- Gold Seal Certification, PMP Designation, or P.Eng., an asset.
