Job description
Adecco is currently seeking a dynamic and experienced General Accountant for a Temporary to Permanent role in Mississauga, ON. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing various aspects of the general ledger, overseeing daily accounting functions, and supporting financial reporting processes. This role requires a strong background in internal controls, SOX compliance, and a proven ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Shifts: Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm

Responsibilities:
Manage general ledger functions, including interfaces with sub-systems.
Build and maintain a trusting relationship with our client and accounting management.
Develop budgets and forecasts, ensuring accuracy and credibility.
Supervise monthly close and daily accounting functions, including team development.
Prepare monthly financial statements, journal entries, and account reconciliations.
Interact with other divisions and external entities regarding financial matters.
Support SOX and internal control compliance, documentation, and testing.
Assist the Canadian tax department in compliance and audits.
Handle ad hoc accounting requests and projects as required.
Requirements:
BA/BS in Accounting
CPA designation
Strong automated system and PC knowledge (Excel, Access, PowerPoint)
Working knowledge of Infinium G/L or SAP consolidation preferred
Experience with Data Analytics tools (Tableau, Power BI, Power Pivot)
Strong internal control and SOX background, preferably from a Big 4 or national accounting firm
Excellent analytical, organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
Flexibility to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
Ability to prioritize activities to meet deadlines.
Legally eligible to work and reside in Canada.
