Job description
Our client is looking for Assistant Site Superintendents who play a crucial role in supporting the Site Superintendent in the management and execution of various projects. The Assistant Site Superintendent, representing the client, demonstrates a commitment to customer satisfaction and field performance. Responsibilities for this role include, but are not limited to:
Responsibilities:
- Assist the site superintendent in overseeing and making decisions related to scheduling, delivery, logistics, quality control, and trade employee staffing levels.
- Support the site superintendent in overseeing work among assigned trades to ensure a coordinated project operation, resolving local area problems, and addressing other relevant matters.
- Manage the site safety program and ensure subcontractor compliance with standards and safety codes.
- Assist the site superintendent in creating schedules, determining the sequencing of work, and implementing recovery strategies to maintain project schedules.
- Communicate with owners, architects, and engineers regarding field issues, investigating and resolving them.
- Manage the billing process related to work-in-place and oversee monthly estimates of work completed, payrolls, material invoices, and subcontractor payment applications.
- Possess complete knowledge of contracts, subcontract documents, drawings, specifications, labor agreements, and local codes.
- Ensure that the work is installed in compliance with and conforms to approved contract documents.
- Ensure daily completion of timesheets and maintain a daily log of site activities.
- Keep a log of any First Aid situations.
- Support the site superintendent in coordinating and scheduling sub-trades and subcontractors.
Requirements:
- Degree or diploma in a related field.
- Position-relevant bonding and certifications.
- Two years of experience in a management role and four years of experience in a related industry.
- Strong diplomatic skills, including negotiation, conflict resolution, and people management.
- Ability to manage coordination efforts in construction projects with various parties.
- Solid knowledge of health and safety regulations.
- Proven experience preparing and conducting post-implementation evaluations.
- Ability to create realistic schedules to support timely project completion.
- Demonstrated ability to exercise necessary cost control measures.
- Project management skills.
- Ability to prioritize and manage conflicting demands.
- Ability to delegate, set expectations, and monitor progress of all direct reports.
