Job Title: Fabrications Welder I
Location: Aurora IL 60504
Duration: 6 Months
Hours: 6:00 AM to 2:00 PM (Mon Fri)
Job Description:
- A MIG Welder is responsible for joining metal using a variety of techniques often to form new structures.
- Tasks may include cutting and welding materials according to the technical plans created.
- Follow current Standard Work with excellence including accountability for the quality of work performed.
- Identify all outofstandard and nonconforming conditions; alert Team Lead and/or Supervisor for remediation.
- Understand and identify sources of waste in the workflow and work with Team Lead / Supervisor to eliminate them.
- Identify and propose ideas to improve safety quality throughput and teamwork.
- Execute and maintain a clean and organized work area following 5S methods.
- Continuously learn new job skills within the workflow/plant to improve the overall effectiveness of the organization.
- Perform all work according to area and *** procedures and code of conduct.
- Able to execute standard work with support from others on complex tasks.
- Able to operate Value Stream workstation.
- Setup and operate all tools and equipment necessary to execute standard work proficiently with MIG STICK TIG and FLUX core welding.
- Minimal weld qualifications (SST).
- Ability to read and write English.
- Identifies problems in the execution of standard work and requests help from others on resolutions.
- Other duties as assigned.
Key Responsibilities:
- 1year experience high school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to read and write English.
- Basic computer literacy using Microsoft Windows.
- Basic math skills and ability to use basic measurement equipment (ruler scale calipers tape measure).
- Ability to use various hand tools (wire strippers pliers wrenches etc.)
- Stooping kneeling standing for long periods.
- Lifting (regularly up to 50 lbs.)
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision color vision and depth perception.
