Position Description
A day in the life
The Accounts Payable Clerk is responsible for the accounts payable (except freight) for Geosynthetics Canada and International. They are highly organized team players with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Post secondary education with a focus in accounting, as well as experience with ERP Software (Syspro) would be an asset.
How you will lead
- Expeditious and accurate completion of high volume of payables, including matching purchase orders/authorizations and receiving’s with invoices.
- Accurately coding supplier invoices with appropriate general ledger expense code and customer ID.
- Accurately enter approved supplier invoice into Syspro.
- Reconcile invoices to supplier statements and trouble shoot, if necessary.
- Process weekly payment run.
- Create wire payments where necessary. Post payments into Syspro and scan backup into Laserfiche.
- Scanning of cheques, EFTs, wire payments and backup into Laserfiche.
- Respond to all internal and external A/P enquiries.
- Prepare manual payments as required.
- Scan and send copies of invoices charged to intercompany accounts to the appropriate personnel.
- Scanning of documents into Laserfiche (i.e. cash journals, credit applications, employee expenses, etc.).
What we look for
- Completion of Grade 12. Post secondary education with a focus in accounting would be an asset.
- Minimum 2 years of experience.
- Broad knowledge and experience in accounts payable.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent data entry skills (speed and accuracy).
- Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with external vendors and internal customers (written and oral).
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and in an environment with frequent interruptions.
- Experience in the use of ERP software (Experience with Syspro would be an asset).
