Elections Manitoba is the independent office of the Legislative Assembly responsible for the free and fair conduct of all provincial elections and the regulation of political financing.

We are seeking a highly motivated individual, with a keen appreciation for the integrity of the electoral process, who will provide leadership and strategic vision to assist the office in its mandate.

Qualifications:

Conditions of Employment:

· The incumbent must be, and remain, politically non-partisan in both perception and fact.

· Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.

· Satisfactory criminal record check.

Essential skills/expertise:

· Senior management experience plus post-secondary education in a relevant field (such as Business Administration, Political Science, Commerce, Law).  An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. 

· Senior leadership experience including the management of senior staff overseeing multiple departments or functions.

· Demonstrated strategic leadership skills including experience developing collaborative teams, managing complex organizational change, and managing performance.

· Sound judgment, critical thinking and innovative problem solving skills to effectively resolve operational issues in a timely and appropriate manner.

· Experience with the interpretation of legislation, statutes, regulations, and policies.

· Experience in strategic planning, including experience in project plans, operationalizing plans and establishing priorities based on an agency’s initiatives.

· Excellent written communication skills, including experience writing various reports with analysis and recommendations.

· Strong verbal communication skills, demonstrated ability to communicate to all levels of the organization and external stakeholders.

· Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to build and maintain working relationships with diverse groups of stakeholders.

· Demonstrated political acumen and proven ability to work with integrity.

· Ability to communicate effectively on matters which are sensitive and frequently complex in nature with parties of differing backgrounds and interests.

Desired skills/expertise:

· Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the role of Elections Manitoba

· Knowledge of election legislation, policies and procedures and precedent in Manitoba and other jurisdictions.
