The Position:
- We are currently looking for a passionate outdoor enthusiast to join our small yet growing team as a full-time Assistant General Manager. This role will report to the General Manager and assist in managing our sales, operations, marketing, product development, and accounting departments.
- The hired person for this role will soon be promoted to General Manager, as the current General Manager will be promoted to an executive role overseeing global opportunities overseas. The timeline for this is TBD.
The Job:
- Support and assist the General Manager in all aspects of the business.
- Increase management efficiency and effectiveness by hiring, training, and managing staff and partnering with any related businesses
- Maintain knowledge of the company's goals, vision, and values to ensure appropriate prioritizing and to communicate effectively with the team
- Interpret and translate emails and meetings with the CEO and the product development team (Korean <-> English)
- Foster a local and international outdoor industry network platform
- Work with the sales and marketing departments to reach monthly, quarterly, and yearly goals
- Plan and develop effective sales strategies and set goals and targets
- Manage sales activities with marketing campaigns
- Work with the operations department to generate production quantities each season
- Maintain an updated knowledge of the company’s goals, vision, and values to ensure appropriate prioritizing;
- Be aware of the stocking and inventory of goods to ensure timely supply of orders;
- Oversee e-commerce platform and fulfillment including but not limited to Amazon and Shopify;
- Oversee and manage trade shows and sales/operations-related events including but not limited to Outdoor Retailer Shows and local account visits;
- Authorize e-commerce/marketing ideas and guide projects initiated by the Marketing Coordinator
- Ensure efficiency of workflow and employee productivity.
- Other duties as assigned/as deemed necessary as the Manager.
The Requirements:
- Fluent/Native/Bilingual in Korean and English
- Minimum 2 years experience working in an office setting
- Minimum 3 years experience in a managerial role.
- Experience working in the outdoor industry
- Advanced Microsoft Excel/Google Sheets skills and previous work experience with Excel/Sheets is essential
- Ability to accurately communicate information through emails and phone calls
- Ability to build and nurture long-term customer and staff relationships
- Precise and detail-oriented personality with strong organizational skills
- An encouraging attitude and energy that support the team
- Ability to multi-task
- Ability to travel & attend trade shows 2-3 times per year
The Beneficial Qualities (but not required):
- Previous experience and knowledge using Shopify
- Retail and/or customer service experience
- B2B sales/account management experience
- Bookkeeping/accounting knowledge
- Knowledge of the US outdoor industry
