Mechanical Designer / Production Coordinator

Our client is an established manufacturer of lighting products located in the Bolton area. They are currently looking for a Mechanical Designer/Production Coordinator to join their team on a permanent full time basis.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare shop/production drawings (3D Model & 2D Drawings) as per client’s request
• Prepare custom product drawings from rough sketch/photograph/verbal instruction
• Confirm in house material availability
• Create accurate BOMs as per assembly
• Update shop drawings, production drawings & BOMs as required
• Update and submit production schedules weekly
• Inspect and tag incoming job specific material
• Maintain inventory levels of standard parts, shop supplies, and welding supplies
• Obtaining quotes from vendors for standard/non-standard stock parts and shop/welding supplies
• Actively taking monthly inventory check of standard parts for production purpose and participate in yearly inventory check
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering Technology
• 2+ year of relevant experience preparing 3D/2D drawings using Solidworks
• Experience preparing BOMs
• Experience with production scheduling
• Experience in the construction industry is an asset
• Team player mentality
• Excellent written/verbal communication skills
