Who We Are:
Natural Resource Solutions Inc. (NRSI) is an environmental consulting firm with our head office
located in Waterloo, Ontario. NRSI is a well-respected firm that focuses on technical excellence
in the field of ecology with experience working on a wide range of projects across Canada,
including land developments, renewable energy, natural heritage planning, ecological
restoration, research and monitoring, and species assessments and recovery strategies. Our
staff consists of terrestrial, wetland and aquatic biologists and ecologists with particular
expertise in the identification and management of significant and sensitive natural features.
Who we are looking for: NRSI is currently looking to hire a qualified individual to join our administrative team as a Junior Financial Accountant who would be responsible for the completion of tasks including, but not
limited to, the following under the supervision of the Controller:
- Assist controller with month-end and year-end activity
- Assist in the preparation of monthly invoices
- Expense sheet data review and entry
- Assist in the maintenance of expense data
- Prepare account reconciliations
- Electronic filing of documents
- Prepare and provide project managers with financial information, as required
- Assist in collection of overdue accounts receivable
- Maintenance of project contracts and purchase orders
- Assist with customer deposit and payment recording and reconciliations
- Prepare HST returns
The successful applicant will be based out of the Waterloo, Ontario office with partial work-from home option. This is a full-time permanent position, to start as soon as possible.
The successful applicant will have completed a college diploma or university degree in accounting. A CPA designation is considered an asset.
Required skills and experience include: - 3-5 years+ experience in a finance position is preferred
- Attention to detail and accuracy, highly motivated with demonstrated initiative and ability to work independently
- Strong work ethic, analytical and communications skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience working with Quickbooks accounting software an asset
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel
