Job description
Maintain a clean and orderly work area and ensure that all safety practices and procedures are being always followed, including wearing appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (steel toed boots, safety vest, protective eye/face gear, gloves, etc.) for the task at hand.
Inspect various parts of trucks/trailers including engines, brake systems, wheel bearings, steering mechanisms, fuel system components and other important parts to ensure they are in the proper working order.
Replace or repair malfunctioning components including parts, valves, bearings and gears as needed; tighten bolts and screws and reassemble equipment.
Safely use the appropriate tools for the repair such as hand tools (screw drivers, pliers, wrenches, pressure gauges and precision instruments) as well as power tools (pneumatic wrenches, lathes, welding equipment, jacks and hoists, etc.).
Work with the parts department to ensure that inventory control processes are followed, including completion of Parts Request Forms and support the kitting where necessary.
Maintain clear and legible inspection forms, Work Orders, and all other required paperwork to facilitate correct billing, inventory management and KPI measurements.
