Registered Nurse I (Ambulatory Care)
Temporary Full Time
Location: Happy Valley-Goose Bay, NL
(PCN: 55274RP1)

Reporting to the Regional Manager of Community Supports and Community Health Nursing, the purpose of this position is to perform professional nursing services for Ambulatory Care and Oncology. The position assists with daily walk-in, Ambulatory Care, and Oncology clinics, where required. The incumbent must be committed to monitor safety and partner with all team members to improve worker and patient safety by integrating safety into work practices, identifying risks, and implementing improvements.

Qualifications:

" Graduation from an approved/recognized School of Nursing program is required;
" Current and continuing practicing licensure with the College of Registered Nurses of Newfoundland and Labrador (CRNNL) is required;
" Cancer Care Chemotherapy Certification required or willingness to obtain within a timeframe identified by the employer;
" Current CPR Certification;
" A valid Newfoundland and Labrador Class 5 Driver license and access to a private vehicle is a condition of employment;
" Applicants must also be prepared to demonstrate an ability to be self-directed and exercise independent nursing judgment in an Ambulatory based environment with limited supervision; work collaboratively with team members and community;
" Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing;
" Wound care management course completed or willingness to complete in a timeframe identified by the employer;
" The successful applicant will be required to submit a Satisfactory Certificate of Good Conduct and Vulnerable Sector Check;

Duties: (include but not limited to):

" Works with individuals and colleagues in planning, developing, implementing and evaluating client focused Ambulatory Care wellness programs;
" Provides Breastfeeding support;
" Participates in research, committees, program related activities, and policy development as required;
" Maintains accurate electronic and hard copy records and submits reports and statistics as required;
" Maintains continuing education to remain current in the new methods and procedures;
" Assists in the orientation of new personnel and acts as a preceptor for students in Ambulatory Care and Oncology;
" Provide coverage for Oncology when required;
" May be required to work alone;
" May be required to do relief;
" Travel is required;
" Other related duties as required.
Salary:

" NS-28, of the RNUNL salary scales $37.86 to $47.16 per hour, plus the applicable Labrador allowance;

Hours of Work:

" 75 hours bi-weekly; Variable shifts; Weekend shifts are required;
