Regional Manager Biomedical Engineering Services and Capital Equipment
Western Memorial Regional Hospital, Corner Brook
Western Zone currently requires the services of a Regional Manager, Biomedical Engineering Services on a temporary full time basis at Western Memorial Regional Hospital in Corner Brook. Reporting to the Regional Director Physical Infrastructure Support, the Regional Manager Biomedical Engineering Support will be responsible for the provision of biomedical services for the entirety of Western Zone. He/she will function as the primary technology leader for the biomedical area of the department. The Manager develops, directs, organizes and manages the overall biomedical support operations In addition, he/she will work with clinical departments in the provision of biomedical services through in-house staff and contracted services and acts as the department's lead in new equipment acquisition, installation, modification and/or removal and may directly oversee the progress of such projects. The successful candidate will also be responsible for the management of all service contracts for Western Health.

PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES: Provision of biomedical services for the entire region; financial management and budgeting; hiring and human resource planning; management of employee performance including training, attendance management and performance review; liaison with internal and external stakeholders including regulatory agencies; participation in the development, implementation and evaluation of departmental directions, objectives and strategies within Western Zone; policy and standards development, capital equipment planning and contract management.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED: The successful candidate will have leadership experience in a clinical setting combined with knowledge and training in the Biomedical Engineering field. Strong decision-making, interpersonal, leadership and communication skills are considered essential. Candidates must have a degree at the baccalaureate level with experience in the biomedical field supplemented with extensive health care experience. Candidates must demonstrate an ability to prioritize and meet competing deadlines in a self-directed manner. Strong leadership, facilitation, engagement and communication skills are required. The candidate will have strong data management skills. Candidates must display proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office and must be able to adapt to new software technology. In the event no suitable candidate is found with the above noted qualifications, consideration may be given to applicants who do not currently possess a Bachelor's Degree, provided they are willing to complete same within five years of appointment to the position. In this case, the successful applicant must be prepared to demonstrate proof of registration/enrollment to an appropriate degree program within the first year of appointment to the position. Furthermore, the successful applicant is required to provide annual updates based on the progress of each semester of the program.
Hours of Work: 70 hours per pay period
0800-1600 Hours, Monday to Friday
Salary Scale: $71,215.00 to $92,579.00 per annum
