We design, coordinate, and fabricate architectural components of buildings using wood and steel. Our work has been installed in various high-end projects across the world, including locations such as Hawaii, Dubai, Vancouver, and New York. We operate out of a modern facility located in Nelson, British Columbia. Nelson is a community of approximately 11,000 residents known for its outstanding culture, dining scene and outdoor recreation opportunities. These include world-class mountain biking, hiking, and snow sports. Whitewater Ski Resort is a short 20-minute drive away. House prices represent good value in comparison to major centres such as Vancouver, Kelowna, and Toronto (the median sale price for a single detached home is $690K). Nelson is located on the West Arm of Kootenay Lake and has more heritage buildings per capita than anywhere else in BC.
Your new role
As HR Manager, you will have the opportunity to oversee all aspects of human resource management. As a strategic partner, you will collaborate with senior leadership to develop and implement HR strategies that align with business objectives. Key responsibilities include talent acquisition, employee development, performance management, and fostering a positive workplace culture. You will devise and lead HR initiatives, ensure compliance with employment laws, and drive employee engagement. This is a newly created role that provides the opportunity to shape the HR function and processes. We strongly believe in continuous improvement and would like to identify a forward-thinking HR leader that is willing to challenge the status quo.
What you'll need to succeed
To be considered for this role, you must have 3+ years’ experience as HR Manager with a total of 7 years’ experience in the field of HR. Experience in a manufacturing, construction, or engineering setting is preferred. You must be a proactive individual with excellent communication skills and well-developed analytical skills. Candidates for consideration should have a relevant Degree, such as Human Resources, Psychology or Business Management. Those with CPHR designation will be particularly highly regarded.
