JOB DESCRIPTION

Our busy warehouse located in Surrey, BC is the leader in specialty and natural foods distribution to retails and vendors across North America. As the Warehouse Supervisor, you are responsible for the efficient receiving and stocking of inbound freight and coordinating the selection and loading of product in the most cost-effective manner and ensures quality and safety standards are adhered to and manage associate staffing.

This is a full-time , permanent employment opportunity
Location: Surrey, BC ( Port Kells)
Schedule: Monday-Friday
Shift time: 9:30AM-6:00PM
Wage: $75,000 annually with eligibility for 6% bonus

Responsibilities
-Support and participate in food safety programs including SQF (Safe Quality Food)
-Proactive communication to internal contacts regarding warehouse processes which impact customers and transportation.
-Ability to work in a unionized environment.
-Establish and implement operational policies and procedures including but not limited to production, receiving, routing, inventory, and transportation.
-Responsible for maintaining high standards related to the physical condition of warehouse and equipment.
-Implement new processes to increase efficiencies while reducing costs.
-Ensure the warehouse is in compliance with all provincial and federal laws (or equivalent Canadian laws).
-Ensure warehouse associate training is occurring timely.
-Troubleshoot systems issues, which affect timely delivery and/or receiving of product.
-Plan daily and weekly production activities when necessary.
-Ensure all food safety compliance.
-Ensure company sponsored safety programs are administered correctly according to best practice.
-Proactively improve labor relations.
-Other duties and special projects as requested.
-Must maintain good attendance, safe work practice and maintain safeguards of confidential company information.
-Working Knowledge of Cycle Counts & Inventory Movement.
-Participate on Health and Safety Committees and have a working knowledge of accident reporting.

Qualifications
-High School Diploma required and a minimum of five (5) years’ previous warehouse/logistics management experience.
-Current Forklift and related power equipment license and training certificate preferred.
-Strong communication skills (oral and written) and fluent in English.
-Proficiency in MS Office required. Computer skills in AS400 experience preferred.
-Excellent customer service-oriented attitude with ability to get along with diverse personalities and communicate effectively with customers and all levels -Must be tactful, mature, and flexible with good reasoning abilities and sound judgement.
-High energy level with the ability to establish creditability and be decisive but be able to recognize and support the organization’s preferences and priorities.
