Kolbe Gallery Calgary has an exciting opportunity for an Architectural Sales Representative to join our growing team. Kolbe Gallery Calgary, part of the Finestra Design group of companies, is a proud distributor of Kolbe Windows and Doors and specializes in high-luxury residential and light-commercial fenestration solutions. We service the most reputable architects, builders, and renovators in Western Canada. We strive to be technical leaders in our field, and provide our clients with the product expertise, knowledge, and technical support they need to bring their unique designs to life.
This position is responsible for the sales and promotion of Kolbe products and installation services to clients in our region. The Architectural Sales Representative will introduce products, participate in continuous training, and maintain and develop relationships in our region to drive sales of our products to new and existing customers. You rapidly build trust with your customers and provide solutions to meet their needs. You are tech savvy, have a passion for all things construction and have excellent knowledge of building systems and the construction process.
You demonstrate a high level of customer service, enjoy building rapport and nurturing long-term relationships with designers, architects, builders, general contractors, and homeowners, both over the phone and in person.
While anyone dedicated to the world of architecture, engineering, and construction is encouraged to apply, a background in sales of building products, drafting construction projects in Western Canada, or other experience in the construction industry is a significant asset.
Key Elements of the Role:
- Develop and maintain excellent customer relations through regular contact and prompt and reliable service.
- Create opportunities for applications of our products through promotion to designers, architects, contractors, and owners.
- Produce accurate bids for supply and/or installation of custom window and door packages for new construction and renovation projects.
- Manage customer expectations and handle issues and complaints professionally.
- Achieve and exceed annual sales goals and objectives.
- Schedule orders in co-ordination with the inside sales team.
- Supports other business activities as required.
- Participate in regular meetings with company management.
- Develop and execute payment schedules for customer orders, and collect payments for all phases as per agreed upon terms and conditions.
Basic Key Competencies, Experience and Abilities:
- Knowledge of Canadian construction practices, materials, products, and applications.
- Ability to read and interpret construction documents of all kinds including specifications, structural drawings, architectural drawings, and shop drawings.
- Familiarity with Canadian building code regulations
- Motivation and flexibility to succeed in a competitive environment.
- Excellent interpersonal communication, problem solving abilities, and critical thinking skills.
- Superior organizational and time management skills.
- Proficiency with the Microsoft suite of software applications.
- Excellent customer-first attitude—someone who enjoys people.
- Excellent written and verbal command of the English language.
- Proven commitment to accuracy and attention to detail.
- Positive and professional attitude.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Valid passport and legally allowed to travel to the United States.
- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
Experience and Skills Considered to be Assets:
- Experience with construction estimating, planning, and/or project management.
- A strong understanding of construction logistics.
- Experience using AutoCAD and other computer aided design software.
- Hands-on experience in glazing, carpentry, or construction sales.
Compensation:
- Talented individuals in this role will sell $1.5M-$4M annually. We offer a generous commission plus bonus structure that could earn $84,000-$200,000 annually based on such volumes.
