Job description
We are seeking a candidate who loves to preach and teach the scriptures. Someone who loves serving our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, and who will be comfortable leading a mature church while assisting in our goal of reaching out to our local community to grow our church. The primary responsibility each week will be preparing and delivering the sermon. Pastoral care will also be required for members and adherents requiring extra care.
At Central Baptist Church, we are a vibrant congregation who recently celebrated our 70th Anniversary of serving our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. We are searching for an enthusiastic interim lead pastor to lead our weekly services, along with our Worship Team. We are looking for an approachable, caring, and spiritually mature person of God with strong communication skills. We are asking God for an interim lead pastor who is effective and powerful in their biblically-oriented preaching, teaching, and evangelism, to effectively create disciples and help us fulfill the Great Commission.

A minimum of five years of experience working as a pastor in a Baptist Church would be a definite asset, especially a church associated with the Canadian Baptists of Ontario and Quebec (CBOQ). The ideal candidate will also have a heart for pastoral care, and the desire to connect with the members of the church to develop closer relationships and mutual care.
Prepare and deliver the weekly sermon. Lead the service in conjunction with the Worship Team. Assist the Board of Ministry and Outreach with monthly meetings. Be available for pastoral care and funerals, as required.
A passion and ability to reach out and contact people within our local community, and to engage with them in seeking a relationship with Jesus Christ is definitely an attribute that would be valuable. The ability to use social media, and to network with those outside the church community would be helpful.
