Job Description
For it’s Head Office, Techo-Bloc is looking for a Buyer who will be responsible for creating purchase orders and sales orders for the marketing team. In this role, the Buyer will perform the following tasks:
- Maintain frequent communications with suppliers to ensure deliveries are on schedule.
- Negotiate the availability of products to meet internal customer requirements and negotiate with suppliers (price, payment terms, delivery dates, etc.).
- Track and follow-up on receptions, payments and invoices that complete the purchasing and receiving cycle.
- Read and interpret contracts to produce purchase orders.
- Ensure the replenishment of the US and Canadian sites.
- Negotiate, discuss and establish relationships with various suppliers.
- Issue and coordinate delivery schedules for incoming shipments with receiving sites
- Discuss inventory and warehouse capacity with warehouse managers prior large purchases.
- Research and source new products for the different needs of the Marketing Department.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of processes.
- Update written procedures for the procurement SOP.
- Keep the department and individual stakeholders updated on the status of their orders and any delays that may arise.
Qualifications
- College diploma in accounting / procurement or other relevant field.
- Minimum of 2 years experience in a similar position.
- Knowledge of an ERP system such as SAP or Microsoft AX (an asset).
- Bilingualism (English and French).
- Excellent knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite.
- Ability to organize and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Must have a proactive working style with a strong sense of ownership and urgency.
- Must display a positive, friendly attitude with a genuine interest in contributing within a team-driven environment.
- Flexible and autonomous.
