The Headlines:
In the role of Chief Engineer working in Chilliwack, BC you will be part of the Fraser Valley Brewery Maintenance Team. You will ensure an uninterrupted supply of utilities to the brewery in an effective and cost-efficient manner. You will also coordinate and direct Stationary Engineers to ensure the effective operation of the Powerhouse and plant utility services.
This position reports to the Technical Services Manager .
The Responsibilities:
- Manage a team of 5 shift engineers and 2 maintenance engineers who provide utilities to the brewery and maintenance of utilities equipment.
- Regulatory compliance for Pressure Vessel and Physical Plant risk management for code required pressure relief valves - ammonia, steam, air, the maintenance brewery fire protection equipment, brewery wide inspections and repairs to pressure vessels i.e., steam jacketed process vessels - kettles, mash mixers, Boilers, ammonia, air, & CO2, vessels
- Lead the development and implementation of Energy, Water and Emissions reductions through project, people, process, and technical improvements.
- Provide leadership for energy conservation inclusive of: setting targets, collecting and analysing data, communicating to others internally & externally.
- Maintenance of brewery city water distribution and treatment.
- Operation of the brewery effluent treatment plant and coordination of effluent sampling for the City of Chilliwack.
- Provide administrative back up to the HS&E manager on Environmental issues and actions.
- Site contact for management of Fraser Valley Brewery natural gas and electricity contract;
- Provide support to the brewery HS&E manager in the administration of the brewery emergency plan.
- Provide leadership for the Molson Production Strategy Utilities module
- Capital plan support in budget assessment and utility capital improvement project submissions.
- Act as utilities support resource for process related capital work and as a project manager for utility capital projects.
The Other Qualifications:
- A 3rd Class Stationary Engineer’s certificate
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in an industrial environment.
- Experience in the food and beverage industry is desirable.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver Utilities targets through; analysis of use, reporting on targets, collaboration with operations departments and leading reduction projects.

Job Posting Salary Range: $101,800-$132,320
