Job description
Our client is a successful logistics company operating across Canada and offering a variety of services including warehousing, co-packing, and transportation.
They are currently adding a Business Development Manager (brand-new position) to their Burnaby, BC location which will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities and increasing revenue within the assigned territory.
This is an outstanding opportunity to work for a well-established yet growing organization that is aiming to strengthen its market presence and become an even larger player in the Canadian logistics sector.
Responsibilities:
- Build the appropriate cross-functional relationships company-wide to ensure proper support
- Lead the charge in handling and developing business leads leveraging the company’s processes and their own sources
- Conduct the appropriate research prior to reaching out to clients to ensure optimal effectiveness of initial contact
- Develop client-focused solutions in line with thorough needs analysis of client’s requirements
- Follow established processes and work with internal stakeholders to establish pricing
- Ensure the company’s target margins are met
- Ensure all appropriate data/info is gathered and inputted in sales pipeline tools
- Gather all appropriate stakeholders to address any hurdle required to finalize a new business opportunity
- Actively participate in required meetings and present the status of sales activity
- Stay informed on industry developments to ensure optimal sales effectiveness
- Gather and communicate all appropriate competitive intel
- Work closely with on-boarding team to ensure hand-off is smooth and that the client transition is seamless
- Work with other business development managers in other regions to handle new clients that may have multi-regional requirements
- At all times display the highest professional conduct and integrity levels
Qualifications:
- Competencies in 3rd party logistics – warehousing, co-packing and transportation
- Competencies in business development and customer-facing roles, managing full sales cycle
- Experience in building creative solutions for clients
- Ability to create and maintain strong internal relationships
- Ability to facilitate meetings with customers and users of various levels of professional seniority
- Track record of generating results
- Flexibility to adapt to a fast-changing environment
- Perseverance to build a robust and continuously healthy sales pipeline
