Health and Safety Administrator

Activity sector: Pulp and Paper
Site: Kamloops
Salary Range: $65,000 – $75,000
Schedule: Compressed Work Week (9-hour dayshifts, every other Friday off)

YOUR ROLE

Reporting to the Health and Safety Manager, the Health and Safety Administrator will support the H&S department with administrative work, onboarding of new employees and training management. This is an entry level role with opportunities for career development and advancement.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

ü Manage training systems by assigning courses, running reports, and tracking completions;

ü Organize on site compliance training and track compliance due dates;

ü Build training packages and material by using prior resources, researching information and working with different departments;

ü Coordinate and schedule onboarding for all new employees;

ü Support meetings by taking minutes, and preparing and distributing information or reports;

ü Support ERT training with tracking, scheduling and updating requirements;

ü Assist in scheduling First Aid training and report collection;

ü Assist in document management for Health and Safety department including audits, data entry, reporting, tracking, and updating policies;

ü Oversee PPE for new employees and the Eye Safe program for mill site;

ü Provide coverage for other administrators and H&S department as needed;

ü All other duties as assigned.

YOUR SKILLS AND ABILITIES

ü Safety focused;

ü Self-directed and works with minimal supervision;

ü Ability to manage time and multi-task to accomplish a variety of assignments with conflicting priorities and deadlines;

ü Confident communicator at all levels of organization including listening, writing and presenting;

ü Proven organizational skills with the ability to prioritize effectively and manage multiple tasks in an environment with competing demands;

ü Detail oriented;

ü Work well in team and possess a friendly and positive demeanor and professional image.

YOUR QUALIFICATIONS

ü 1-3 years of administrative experience and/or Health & Safety education;

ü Previous experience in a Health & Safety role is an asset;

ü Current Certificate in Occupational Health & Safety or willing to obtain is an asset;

ü Strong computer system aptitude and experience working with various types of software including Microsoft Office Suite; previous experience using point is an asset.
