Job purpose
MATRIX is currently seeking a highly energetic and organized individual that can handle multiple competing priorities and schedule workloads based on a sense of urgency. The National Field Asset Manager is the primary position to ensure that the Matrix field assets and Front-Line Field Supervisors are always in a state of readiness to best represent the Matrix brand to our existing and potential future clients.
Position Overview
This position is responsible for the organization, upkeep, and quality assurance of Matrix camp assets (Tents, trailers, stoves, generators etc.) as well as overseeing all Front-line Supervisors (Camp Managers) across the country and at our client’s worksites. The National Field Asset Manager reports directly to the National Operations Manager and works closely with our Build leads, and other Management staff. This is a full-time permanent position located in Osoyoos, or Terrace, BC.
The National Field Asset Manager performs a wide range of duties including some or all the following:
- Complete regularly scheduled camp inspections “post- build” and ongoing throughout each project life cycle, and/or at least on a quarterly basis.
- Ensure all Matrix Field crews have all required certifications and training in place in an ongoing fashion.
- Coach, mentor and develop staff, including overseeing new employee orientation and providing career development planning and opportunities for key field staff positions.
- Creates and keeps up to date - a complete and accurate “asset inventory.”
- In support of the camp build teams, performs pre-deployment inspections on all camp assets.
- Purchase supplies and create PO’s as per corporate protocols and in support of ongoing maintenance programs on field assets.
- Liaise with Camp Managers, Regional Managers and Logistics, for delivery of goods, services, and people.
- Oversee camp safety inspections, ensuring any deficiencies are addressed immediately.
- Liaise with clients “in the field” to address any shortcomings in either camp/project personnel or camp assets in a timely and customer focused fashion.
- Oversees the Matrix Camp Managers. Ensure their concerns are responded to and support available on a timely basis.
- Work independently and handle multiple projects.
Requirements
- Must be a quick learner, think on your feet attitude, and can make decisions on the fly.
- Above average Microsoft Office skillset.
- Must be technically strong with various camp equipment and assets, such as Generators, Toyo stoves, plumbing, electrical and carpentry skills will be required.
- Must currently possess, or be able to acquire, a Canadian Firearms Possession and Acquisition License (PAL).
- Must be experienced and skilled in loading/unloading trucks and trailers, gooseneck style and general utility trailers.
- Must be experienced in leading and motivating teams and holding teams accountable to deadlines and service delivery standards.
- Must have a very strong safety background and have demonstrated experience in being involved with safety programs, audits, and best practices.
Preferred Licensing & Certifications:
- Valid Class 1 & 5 Driver’s License, experience in truck and trailer combinations is highly desired.
- Standard First Aid Level 1 is required.
- Transportation of Dangerous Goods
- WHMIS 2015
- Equipment Operator experience, specifically skid steer, telehandler, forklifts.
- Mechanical background, small engine repair and light and heavy vehicle experience is highly desired.
- A current and valid PAL is a requirement.
Benefits
Matrix offers a competitive Base annual salary of between $90,000 and $130,000, depending on experience, Paid time off, ongoing professional development support, and company sponsored health benefits following successful completion of a probationary period.
