We are pleased to partner with BF&M and lead the recruitment efforts in searching for an Internal Audit Assistant to join their team.

Reporting to the Head of Internal Audit, this position provides a full range of financial, compliance, regulatory, information technology and operational audits.

Responsibilities will include:

• Evaluate and monitor the effectiveness of the Group’s governance, risk management, internal control and information technology framework.
• Assess compliance with policies, procedures, laws and regulations which have a significant impact on the Group.
• Assist with the preparation of the audit programs and perform testing to ensure internal controls are designed and operating effectively and comply with the Group’s policies and laws/regulations.
• Attend meetings with auditees to develop and document an understanding of business processes.
• Discuss audit findings and recommendations (i.e. to remediate internal control deficiencies and minimize risk exposures) with process owners and Senior Management.
• Ensure successful completion of engagements, inclusive of planning, fieldwork, reporting, wrap-up and follow-up testing.
• Perform follow-up testing to ensure the remediation of Internal Audit findings by Management.
• Update the Head of Internal Audit on the execution and progress of engagements.
• Coordinate direct assistance testing with external auditors to ensure proper coverage and minimize duplication of efforts.
• Perform assessment of the Internal Audit activity for conformance with the International Professional Practices Framework, ad-hoc reviews, special investigations and/or other duties as requested by the Head of Internal Audit.

The ideal candidate will possess:

• Bachelor’s degree with at least 5 years experience in the insurance sector.
• Currently holds and/or actively pursuing a relevant designation (e.g. CPA, CIA, CPCU, Are, etc.).
• Advanced computer skills on MS Office, accounting software and databases.
• Demonstrate high standards of ethical conduct, independence, objectivity, confidentiality and discretion.
• Excellent written, verbal, organizational and leadership skills.
• Highly motivated and results driven.
• Ability to work independently and/or in a small team, with minimal supervision.
