Our National Account Managers are…
The main point of contact for our National Account customers and are responsible for the delivery of exceptional levels of customer service, as you develop and grow the business through Strategic Account Management best practices. Duties include sales lead identification and follow up, sales forecasting, quotation preparation, and presentations. This position requires significant contact with customers in person, over the telephone and via email. The position is based in our London, Ontario corporate office and regular travel is essential.

As a National Account Manager with HJC Corp. your specific duties will include:
- Develop and build a strong and profitable sales territory – new and existing National Account clientele programs
- Visit customer offices and job sites to assess customer needs and potential, develop and maintain strong relationships, create value and generate and close sales opportunities
- Analyze customer data, develop and execute strategies to grow market share and meet or exceed the monthly required Gross Profit targets
- Perform all sales functions in accordance with Company policy and procedures
- Attend scheduled sales meetings, maintain weekly sales plans and call reports, and keep customer contact files current
- Prospect new customers and proactively alert the General Manager and Credit Manager of viable prospects for screening
- Maintain product literature files and sample material to ensure the most current and accurate information is always provided to our customers
- Investigate and resolve customer problems; address pricing deductions and material returns timely, exceeding customer expectations and benefiting the Corporation
- Work with the customer, General Manager and Credit Manager to facilitate payment of all accounts receivable; communicate to the General Manager and Credit Manager any changes in a customer’s business that might cause a credit risk
- Work on developing business and supporting other Account Manager peers, support Inside Sales and all Company activities, as part of a Team
- Attend local and national meetings, trade shows and conventions to learn about new products, market conditions, the competition and to build vendor relationships
- Perform other reasonably related duties as assigned by the General Manager
Qualifications
Do you have what it takes?
As an Outside Account Manager, you must be optimistic, friendly and service oriented. Excellent verbal and written communication are a must. Bilingual is an asset.
All interested applicants must possess:
- High school diploma or equivalent with preference given to post-secondary education
- Minimum 3 years of industry experience with preference given to previous sales experience with large National Accounts, Engineering and Design firms and contractors
- Experience with Strategic Account Management and value-added services are an asset
- Comprehensive product knowledge in the plumbing, water heater, lighting, electrical, HVAC, tile, restroom partitions and accessories and wall and ceiling finishes are an asset
- Driven to continually identify and pursue new customers and to increase market share and profitability of each assigned National Account
- Self-directed with ability to plan and organize effective sales calls
- Excellent communication and listening skills, able to persuade
- Strong planning and exceptional organizational skills with an attention to detail
- Self-motivated and able to work with a minimum of supervision
- The ability to build strong working relationships with customers and their employee teams, vendors and co-workers
- Ability to work from our London, Ontario Corporate office as needed but applicants may be based in the Southern Ontario area
- A valid driver’s license and a driving record that demonstrates good driving skills
- A valid passport and the ability to travel outside of Canada when required
- Computer literacy with Microsoft Office and preference given to those with a good working knowledge of Infor M3 and QUICKBASE
