Housekeeping Houseperson (Overnight)

Housekeeping Department

Scope and General Purpose of Job:

As a Houseperson, you will be an essential member of the Housekeeping Division, contributing to the overall cleanliness and efficiency of the hotel. This position is designed to uphold the high standards of cleanliness and service that define the Andaz brand

Housekeeping Supervisor

Executive Housekeeper

Front Desk

Main Duties:

· Cleans rugs, carpets and upholstered furniture using a vacuum cleaner, broom and carpet shampoo machine.

· Cleans restaurants, hallways, restrooms, balconies, and other public areas.

· Bending, crouching, and kneeling into the linen delivery bins.

· Washes walls and ceiling, moves furniture and turn mattress.

· Sweeps, mops, scrubs, waxes and polishes floor.

· Dusts and polishes metalwork.

· Collects soiled linen for laundering.

· Received linen supplies from floor chutes.

· Removes trash collected by room attendants.

· Walk all assigned floors at beginning and end of shift to collect Newspaper bags, newspapers, trash, and soiled linen.

· Pickup clean linen and refill the par stock of linen on each floor pantry.

· Deliver towels, cribs, cots and other items to the guest rooms on requests.

· Sort linen, stock room attendant service areas.

· Refill the par stock of guest amenities and supplies on each floor pantry.

· Help the house person / room attendants with the heavy lifting when deep cleaning / spring-cleaning of rooms.

· Clean all public areas in the prescribed manner while following department standard operating procedures.

· Remove soiled linen and trash from the lobby and other service areas and take to appropriate locations in the prescribed manner.

· Assist in the setup and breakdown of meeting spaces and event areas.

· Report missing / found articles, damage or merchandise problems to the housekeeping supervisors.

· Respond at all times in a friendly, helpful manner to guests and other colleagues.

· Take up any tasks assigned by the supervisors as and when needed.

Qualifications

· A true desire to satisfy the needs of guests in a fast-paced environment.

· Strong work ethic with attention to detail

· Ability to understand the service orders and requirements

· Ability to learn about cleaning and sanitation products, techniques and methods, and cleaning sensitive materials

· Ability to learn how to operate cleaning equipment

· Physical stamina and mobility including ability to reach, pull, squat, kneel and bend

· Ability to lift, push and pull required load (usually about 30lbs)

· Ability to work in a team with integrity and confidentiality
