Marketing Communication Specialist (12 to 18 month contract)
The Marketing Communication Specialist is responsible for supporting strategy development and for managing the execution of all corporate communication and branding initiatives across the organization, including developing and delivering on Spark Power's communication, brand awareness, and sponsorship strategy through internal and external efforts with key stakeholders.
What will you do as the Marketing Communication Specialist
- Manage and maintain communications and content calendar, working closely with marketing team, management and subject matter experts.
- Develop and manage press releases, working closely with internal leaders, customers, and partners to develop and disseminate.
- Develop and manage crisis communications plan for Spark, ensuring training for key stakeholders.
- Provide business with communications support and counsel for business priorities by developing communications plans, briefing materials, presentations, media materials, and scripts for projects and events (ie, open houses, speaking engagements...etc.)
- Develop, manage, and maintain branded assets, key messaging, and value propositions across centralized marketing assets such as the website, social media, sales and marketing materials, signage...etc.
- Manage customer events, from planning stage to execution.
- Oversee corporate events, ensuring consistent representation of the Spark brand; managing to budget.
- Oversee Spark Power swag store, working with internal stakeholders and third-party vendor to develop programs and custom orders.
- Manage corporate sponsorships to budget, including contract development, brand awareness strategies, and partner relationships, reporting on sponsorship ROI.
- Work cross-functionally with our People & Culture team to develop, deliver, and report on our employer brand strategy, promoting Spark as an employer of choice.
- Foster relationships with both internal and external stakeholders through meetings, committees, and events.
- Manage third party resources and act as the primary liaison between the company and the agency.
- Provide Director of Marketing with regular reporting of KPIs and ROIs under management, providing detailed insights and improvement recommendations.
- Manage our internal communications/intranet platform, including overseeing soft content and page development, and executing and disseminating critical messages/programs from senior management and People & Culture teams.
- Lead employee Town Halls, including liasing and coaching management, developing and executing communication plans, and managing event production; report on event and make recommendations for improvement.

Do you have the Spark? Here's what we are looking for:
- 5+ years of experience in a marketing, communications, or management role in similar capacity.
- Degree or Diploma in Marketing, Communications, Journalism or Business is an asset
- Valid driver's license
- Experience in strategic development and execution of marketing plans as they relate to digital marketing, content marketing, event planning, communications, and branding.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Demonstrate initiative as a self-starter and independent worker.
- Demonstrated critical thinker with proven solutions.
- Ability to plan, prioritize, and execute multiple competing department initiatives within timelines and budget.
- Ability to work both independently and within a collaborative, team environment.
- Ability to work effectively and efficiently with business leaders, marketing, creative and digital teams as well as control functions (legal etc.)
- Proficiency in full Microsoft Office suite.
- Experience with CMS tools (Wordpress)
- Experience with social media tools (Hootsuite, LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, Google…etc)
