The Western business unit in Canada (1000+ members) provides technical and business consulting services to clients across four provinces. It is imperative that we have the highly motivated people that are passionate about the advancement of technology in order to be successful in delivering value to our clients.

Reporting directly to the Business Unit Leader (Senior Vice President), based in our downtown Edmonton location, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to display a solid academic background combined with an ambitious entrepreneurial spirit and an affinity to work alongside senior level management.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

• Work directly with the senior Western Business Unit leadership team (Senior Vice President and Vice Presidents, Finance and HR) to provide internal management consulting and analysis support for key functional groups and overall business unit operations
• Prepare SVP for executive and business unit level operational meetings by producing reports and presentations for weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual meetings and events, with local, regional and global participants
• Provide strategy development support working with industry and technology leaders which may include internal and external research
• Work closely with the Western business unit senior leadership team, Financial controllers, and Human Resources team to plan, coordinate and take ownership to develop the Fiscal Budget & Annual Business Plan
• Collaborate with and provide guidance to Western Vice Presidents in developing annual and monthly business plans; providing updates on strategic initiatives; while ensuring alignment with the overall business unit level plan
• Plan & manage special events, meetings, and initiatives and create related presentation materials (e.g. management team meetings, monthly leader calls, networking events, etc.)
• Coordinate and plan quarterly and annual staff meetings (virtual and/or in-person) including presentation materials
• Craft consistent messaging for dissemination to Corporate office reporting
• Produce executive-level presentations for key client pitches and meetings
• Work with Corporate Communications team to compose, coordinate, approve, and distribute all key member messaging for the business unit
• Develop templates, dashboards, and manage updates, track data integrity and consistency for the business unit
• Provide analytical input and assistance to business unit leadership team on an ad hoc basis
• Maintain flexibility to accommodate competing priorities of senior leaders involved in planning activities
• Monitor and adhere to timelines established for punctual delivery of all deliverables
• Manage evolving requirements and course-correct as needed to achieve objectives
• Gather inputs from members at all levels of the organization to edit, streamline, and enhance presentations prior to distribution
• Participate in and provide guidance for general member event planning activities
• Act as super user for Western Canada and go-to person for CRM training, reporting, and other needs
• Ensure adherence to CGI processes with regards to business development visibility system

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

Ideal Candidate:
• Business/Computing Science degree or MBA with 1-2 years of experience in a business environment (recent graduates will be considered)
• Able to establish relationships across teams and levels
• Fundamental knowledge of corporate finance and IFRS accounting principles
• Advanced MS Office Skills with a focus on PowerPoint and Excel
• Detail orientated and the ability to handle multiple projects with tight deadlines
• A keen interest and understanding in technology, conducting research, and data analysis is an asset
• A quick learner with the ability to work with minimal supervision
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Able to travel to various CGI office locations across Western Canada (as required) for leadership meetings
• Confident and comfortable interacting with senior leaders at all levels in the organization

CGI is required by law in some jurisdictions to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. The determination of this range includes various factors including but not limited to skill set level, geographic market, experience and training, and licensure and certification. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range in British Columbia is $55,000 - $95,000.
