Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the People and Culture Manager will join The Truffles Group leadership team and be responsible for guiding the human resource functions for The Truffles Group of companies with a focus on the People and Culture planning and priorities for the delivery of people-focused programs and initiatives. You will be successful by understanding the needs of the teams and leaders because you have built strong interpersonal relationships and enjoy working in partnership with their operations. What would your day as the People and Culture Manager hold?
- Managing the department team and day-to-day functions of the department for The Truffles Group of companies and directing the collaboration, partnering and implementation of effective people strategies.
- Being an integral part of a values-based culture, bringing a positive solutions-oriented approach to delivering an exceptional environment for our teams.
- Acting as a subject matter expert by advising our leadership team and managers on all people and culture functions including but not limited to employee and labour relations, performance. management, compensation and benefits, recognition, and cultural enhancements.
- Regularly visiting all Truffles Group business locations to foster productive relationships with managers and teams and to keep abreast of the current pulse of each location.
- Updating Employee Handbooks and the training process to ensure employee onboarding and orientation is consistent, engaging, and thorough.
- Identifying and facilitating training programs to develop and retain employees, including train the trainer sessions.
- Developing and implementing corporate policies/guidelines for employees.

Our ideal People and Culture Manager brings:
- 5+ years of progressive HR generalist and HR managerial experience, including supervisory experience, recruitment, training and development, succession planning, employee engagement and performance management. Experience within a unionized environment is an asset.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resource Management or other related field, or an equivalent combination of education and related experience, and Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) considered an asset.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Professional and discreet in terms of company and employee confidentiality.
- Understanding of BC Employment Standards Act, Human Rights Code, WorkSafe regulations and other applicable HR legislation.
