Home and Community Care Support Services is looking for a permanent full-time Business Intelligence Senior Analyst. Reporting to the Manager, Decision Support, the Business Intelligence Senior Analyst is responsible for performing strategic business intelligence (BI) development and analyses in support of corporate goals and objectives, through improving existing reporting, aggregating common data, and developing data structures to improve efficiency. This position works directly with internal and external stakeholders to determine the analytical needs of the customer, engaging peers and leadership as needed.

What will you do?
- Design, develop, troubleshoot, debug, test, implement and support mechanisms to maintain and provide up-to-date data, reports, analysis, and interpretation of information to support home and community care operations, HCCSS management reporting including scorecards, dashboards and indicators, strategic projects, and external reporting requirements
- Work with internal and external customers and partners to collect requirements, negotiate and inform specifications, and implement optimum BI solutions to data and analytical requests to meet needs
- Analyze the effectiveness and efficiency of business intelligence processes and develop strategies for improving their speed, reliability, and maintainability Work with other team members to improve overall team use of best practice in decision of ongoing operational processes, reports and data structures
- Develop tools and data structures that simplify access to data and analysis of data from a variety of data sources
- May lead or provide direction for the planning, designing, and execution of user efforts and their use of BI
- Maintain strict confidentiality and discretion when working with confidential organizational data and information
What must you have?
- University degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Management, Epidemiology, or specialized training/certification required.
- 3-5 years' direct work experience of Business Analysis.
- Experience with multiple BI tools and methodologies, and familiarity with relational and dimensional data models, including reporting (using SQL queries, stored procedures, etc.), relational database management techniques, applications and tools (SQL Management Studio (SSMS), SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS), SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), Microsoft Fabric, and Power
- Experience with Microsoft Office with proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project and Visio
- Excellent organizational, project management, interpersonal and teamwork skills including managing multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a dynamic work environment
- Strong problem solving, analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Demonstrated abilities in data analysis, interpretation, and report generation; the ability to use data and information to ‘tell the story’.
- Strong communication skills (verbal, written, presentation), with an ability to display and explain complex analyses in an easily understood user-friendly manner geared to the target audience.
- Knowledge and experience working with GIS (Graphic Information System) software including ArcGIS, MapInfo or equivalent software for spatial analysis is an asset.
- We have a mandatory COVID-19 vaccination policy. As a condition of employment, all employees are required to submit proof of COVID-19 vaccination status prior to start date.
What would give you the edge?
- 2-3 years’ experience working in health care, highly desirable.
- Knowledge of provincial health care data holdings and methodologies as an asset (DAD, NACRS, CCRS, NRS, OMHRS, HCRS, MIS, iPort, WTIS).
- Ability to speak French or another second language .
