is looking for a motivated
Summer Student Intern

to join our Team. 
Working under the direction of the General Manager for Great Lakes Grain. 
As a Summer Student Intern, you will have the opportunity to work on assigned grain projects and in different roles developing your agriculture knowledge with hands on experience, as well as gain an understanding of the careers available at Great Lakes Grain and AGRIS.

What you will be responsible for:

-Deliver an exceptional customer experience at every interaction.
-Executing against assigned projects and activities.
-Gain an understanding of the Great Lakes Grain operations.
-Learn about market information and cash grain bids to patrons aligned to their marketing plans.
-Provides ongoing information and feedback to General Manager and Team members for project updates, observations, and recommendations based on assigned work.
-Works to establish company as the first choice in value-added grain marketing.
-Maintain and update project information and records on a daily basis.
-Supports the marketing and sales efforts of the company through information on

prospects, problems, and opportunities.

-Performs various administrative functions, relating to daily, monthly, and year-end.
-Checklists and assist in balancing monthly inventories.

 

Requirements for this position:

-Requires enrollment in a university bachelors or college degree preferably in agriculture, or agri-business.
-Good written and oral communication skills.
-Experience with
agriculture, grain marketing, sale, and origination an asset.
-Demonstrated organizational and logic capabilities
-Travel as required to support farm owner and branch needs across the Great Lakes Grain Market

is a grain marketing partnership between AGRIS Co-operative Ltd. and GROWMARK, INC (including FS PARTNERS, a division of GROWMARK, Inc.)

Great Lakes Grain is one of the largest operators of Ontario country elevators. It represents close to 460,000 MT (18 Million bushels) of storage capacity with total marketing in excess of 40 million bushels serving farmers at more than 30 AGRIS Co-operative and FS PARTNERS branded locations from Windsor through to Toronto and north to Georgian Bay.

We offer competitive marketing options for fall-delivered and on-farm stored grain and provide a complete array of grain services with combined resources and expertise through our owner-partnerships.

Great Lakes Grain is a co-operatively run business which gives it an advantage because it has access to a broader reach into the market through the co-operative network.
