Job description

This is a contract position for a Software Developer for our public sector client.
Work location: Downtown Toronto
Duration: Fifteen Months
7.25 hours/day
This is a Hybrid role that requires the candidate to be onsite 3 days of the week (This is a mandatory requirement of the role and is non-negotiable outside of exceptional circumstances.)

Responsibilities
Assistance in the assessment of the existing SAS 9.4 ecosystem including internal and external data feeds, SAS data sources and existing SAS procedures and projects.
Development of python procedures for automated conversion of legacy SAS code to the Viya formats, comprehensive testing and troubleshooting of conversion issues.
Analysis of the existing Python-based applications integrated with the legacy SAS 9.4 server and re-engineer the code to make it compatible with the Cloud-based Viya platform.
Documentation of unresolved issues for follow-up with SAS Tech Support towards suitable final resolution.
Periodic presentation of findings, problems and resolutions and Knowledge Transfer to HSC team.

Any other deliverables as assigned by Project Manager / Manager.

Qualifications
3-5 Experience with Python
Programming Experience- testing, Strong debugging
Experience in testing Python applications and automated testing tools.
Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git.
Knowledge of AWS cloud services such as S3, Lambda, Oracle RDS, and Redshift.
Solid experience in design and debugging of complex SQL queries.
