Job description
Reporting directly to the Manager, Digital Health, the Clinical Information Systems Consultant provides support and management for electronic medical records (EMR) implementations and ongoing use. This position is responsible for providing leadership in respect to program implementation and ensuring the EMR supports regional clinical and financial business processes for which it was designed. This position is responsible for the effective operation of the EMR, including quality assurance, auditing, application security and data integrity in relation to privacy and adherence of users to identified policy and procedures. The Clinical Information Systems Consultant works with outside vendors, eHealth, and other Information Systems and departments in the installation of new EMR sites and changes or upgrades to existing systems.
Education: Degree in Business Administration, Computer Sciences or Health Information Management. Experience: Two years' experience in the health care sector preferred. Project management skills. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to deal effectively with all levels of staff and outside agencies in a professional manner. Demonstrated ability to teach and train a variety of users, in workshop formats and individual sessions. Demonstrated project management skills. Proven organization ability with an eye for detail. Must be able to work individually and as part of a team. Proven ability to work effectively with others across the organization. Must be self motivated and able to set and attain work priorities. Knowledge of IT/IS infrastructure systems. Proven excellent computer skills are critical to this position with good working knowledge and skills in Microsoft Office suite of programs (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint). Working knowledge of HIPA legislation and security of personal health. Working knowledge of EMRs preferred. Valid driver's license required.Job tags
