Job description

This is a contract position for a Web Specialist for our public sector client.
Work location: Downtown Toronto
Duration: Seven Months
7.25 hours/day
This is a role that requires the candidate to be onsite. (This is a mandatory requirement of the role and is non-negotiable outside of exceptional circumstances.)

Responsibilities
•Develop website components, and custom web templates per UX/UI design specifications
• Create website graphics and navigational components
• Research and integrate web plugins to meet design specifications
• Implement websites on a WordPress content management system in both production and staging environments
• Create custom code in PHP, JavaScript, HTML, CSS to meet design requirements
• Ensure accessibility and usability requirements are met for all web content
• Create web content that is accessible from multiple device/screen types such as: PC, Macintosh, mobile phones, tablets
• Migrate existing web content to the newly developed platforms
• Create custom website maintenance documentation for internal IT teams

• Create custom web style guides for consistent content update processes
• Create website maintenance processes documentation
• Train IT staff and/or business users as required for ongoing website maintenance tasks

Qualifications
At least 8 years of experience in analysis, development, design, testing and implementation of enterprise websites
Knowledge and use of Agile project management platforms such as Azure DevOps environment.
