The Department of Municipal Affairs and Housing (DMAH) is dedicated to working with municipalities to build healthy, vibrant, and safe communities throughout Nova Scotia. DMAH provides programs, grants, and funding opportunities for municipalities and community groups. The Department also provides services and guidance to municipalities in many areas including land use planning, budget planning and finance, infrastructure development, policy and program development, and support for economic development through the management of the Regional Enterprise Network program.

 

The Executive Panel on Housing in Halifax Regional Municipality (Panel) was established in 2021 under the Housing in the Halifax Regional Municipality Act (Act). The mandate of the Panel is to recommend and implement strategies aimed at helping accelerate an increase in the supply of all types of housing in the HRM.

We are seeking an experienced professional to join our team as Project Manager, Secretariat Operations. As the Project Manager, Secretariat Operations you will have an important and exciting role in supporting the ambitious mandate of the Executive Panel on Housing in the Halifax Regional Municipality. Reporting to the Executive Director, Housing Acceleration & Performance, you will lead projects, and collaborate with partners across governments and the private sector to drive important work forward.

Primary Accountabilities

 

As Project Manager, Secretariat Operations your primary accountabilities will include (but are not limited to):

Qualifications and Experience


You possess a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution plus several years of related experience, or an equivalent level of direct and relevant experience/education will be considered.

The successful candidate will have:


The following will be considered assets:  experience in budget and financial management, experience in the housing sector, change management experience, public sector policy experience, and experience working with diverse communities.

Working Conditions

 

This role is based in a comfortable office environment, and you may be working at your computer for extended periods of time. You may be required to travel to worksite locations.

 

You may also be eligible to participate in a hybrid work model, up to two-days a week working from home, to be discussed with your Manager upon hire.


Your normal work week is 35 hours/week, 7 hours/day. This role does entail a high volume of work which may require longer than normal working hours and overtime. Due to the multiple spheres of action and scope of responsibilities that this position requires, there is significant mental pressure, requiring your resilience.

Pay Grade:EC 11 

Salary Range: $3,238.10 - $4,047.67 Bi-Weekly
