Job Description Summary
As a member of Grid Automation Lean Community, you will be an active contributor to the lean maturity for Americas, mainly NAM Region, Product Lines & Global Functions for the entire Value Stream. You will execute the lean roadmaps. You bring experience making transformational change by deploying lean principles and developing leadership behaviors.
The deliverables include meaningful contribution to Hoshin Kanri, Operating Reviews, impactful Kaizen Events, and development of Lean Practitioners. This role will require you to work across all levels of the organization, to include coaching leaders, teams, lead problem solving and it will require travel (max 25% of time).
Job Description
Essential Responsibilities
- Lead the roadmap of lean priorities and maturity of the GA organization in Americas, mainly NAM Region Product Lines & Global Functions for the entire Value Stream (from R&D, ITO to OTR)
- Coach, facilitate, and drive maturity in the Hoshin Kanri and Operating Review process as well as the execution of Improvement Priorities related to NAM growth
- Develop, configure, and optimize process improvements by applying Lean techniques and tools in both – transactional and manufacturing environment
- Act as a mentor and coach for the Leadership and their teams to assure proper deployment of work standards and lean tools
- Coach and develop team members at all levels of the organization to build lean skills and become practitioners, with a focus not only on tools but most importantly on behaviors and desired outcomes
- Teach Value Stream Mapping, Kaizen Events facilitation, Standard Work and facilitate Lean Events
- Deliver training where necessary to evolve and sustain the lean culture across the NAM region as well as in the entire Grid Automation organization
- Lead application of an appropriate level of Problem Solving at the point of impact
- Implement & enhance Standard Work, drive Daily Management and Genba walks
- Work together with the global Grid Automation lean network by sharing and/or implementing best practices, supporting development & networking
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or similar discipline from an accredited university
- Minimum 5 years in Lean Roles (manufacturing & transactional scope)
Eligibility Requirements
- Must have unrestricted Canadian / US work authorization, or independently obtain work authorization in the short term (depending on the location)
- Ability to travel up to 25%
Desired Characteristics
- Lean six-sigma Green belt certified (Black belt preferred)
- Shingijutsu or Toyota Production System (TPS) training will be an asset
- Excellent organizational skills Self-motivated with a winning, “can do” attitude
- Understanding of Americas market for the GA products and services range
- Ability to influence others and lead small teams
- Master of Business Administration will be an asset
- Ability to see, articulate, and then operationalize the business vision/strategy into tactical actions – mobilizing change and achieving business results that impact the P&L and build sustainable business improvements
- Complex problem-solving skillset and aptitude – “Chief problem solver”
- Able to facilitate, coach and direct the full value stream to drive most effective solutions
- Ability to coordinate several projects simultaneously
