PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:
The Design-to-Deliver (D2D) Business Analyst supports the Business Transformation team. Their key responsibility includes actively facilitating and executing strategic initiatives that result in significant organizational changes. As experience is gained, assignments will become more varied and complex and the level of independent action will increase within the established guidelines. In this role, you will engage and collaborate with Business Stakeholders, and IS teams to identify opportunities to utilize or improve technology to enable streamlined processes by acknowledging and understanding people, processes, and technology. The role supports various D2D systems within Canadian Pacific Kansas City in the areas of Train Control, Train Management, Crew Management, Customer Service, Safety, Training, and Operations Practices. This position will require providing service, building and maintaining relationships with the business, and functioning as a team player.
POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Support the Business Partner Team through the project stage gate process
- Assess and record the technology requirements, challenges, and strategies of the business
- Support of all D2D systems including CMA, CTC, OCS, TGBO, ISS, EIC, LMP, NEXUS, and transportation management applications
- Gather requirements using interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, surveys, site visits, business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios, business analysis, design thinking, task and workflow analysis
- Work with business teams to understand and document business process requirements; analyzing and validating for automation feasibility; assisting the core automation team in creating the business case
- Identify issues with respect to solution performance, communicate required changes to development team and track resolution
- System requirement identification and documentation analysis
- Plan and facilitate workshops to identify and validate requirements with IS and business stakeholders in support of projects and opportunities
- Build knowledge of the organization, processes, and customers; Solve a range of straightforward problems; analyze possible solutions using standard procedures; Receive a moderate level of guidance and direction
- Ability to communicate and coordinate with stakeholders effectively in verbal and written formats
- Ability to adjust to changing priorities and manage customer expectations
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent relevant experience
- Experience in gathering requirements using interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, surveys, site visits, business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios, business analysis, design thinking, task and workflow analysis
- Experience with process mapping and / or project management methodology
