The Production Scheduler will be responsible for ensuring best practice(s) in demand planning, inventory planning, production planning and supply planning. He/she will plan an inventory reduction strategies. This position will work closely with the Manufacturing and Materials teams. Production Scheduler shall be responsible for coordinating the activities of production and operation workers, precision workers, machine setters and operators, assemblers, fabricators, and plant and system operators. The Production Scheduler shall ensure that production schedules are created and completed on time, and within budget, in order to meet Customer Quality and Delivery requirements

  1. Prepare daily production schedules
  2. Issue all work orders per production schedule
  3. Participate with Material Requirement Planning improvements/implementation team
  4. Assist with Cycle counting/Bar Coding
  5. Ensure integrity of Data Entry
  6. Train staff to function in their absence
  7. Participate with Inventories.
  8. Estimate materials and labour required for production
  9. Co-ordinate activities with warehouse and production units
  10. Co-ordinate traffic flow of supplies
  11. Monitor production progress
  12. Compile worksheets and specifications of orders
  13. Prepare and maintain progress and other reports
  14. Create, maintain, and ensure execution of the Production Schedule
  15. Review long-term forecasts to identify and mitigate possible capacity/material issues and recommend appropriate action.
  16. Confer with management or subordinates to resolve worker problems, complaints and grievances
  17. Enforce safety and sanitation regulations
  18. Increase worker efficiency and production rates
  19. Ensure that work orders are completed in a timely fashion, within budget
  20. Work with other supervisors to coordinate operations and activities within and between departments
  21. Demonstrate equipment operations and work and safety procedures to new employees, or assign employees to experienced workers for training
  22. Review demand and supply to understand bottleneck and propose alternative capacity or areas needing capacity improvement to meet demand.
  23. Participate in business planning meetings to plan out activities in future time periods.
  24. Constantly look for improvements and help implement solutions.
    Recommend components to stock to support a pull system for products and to reduce lead-times.
  25. Perform ongoing analysis of weekly, monthly and future capacity to optimize product level loading and achieve manufacturing continuity during low and high volume months.
  26. Manage cycle count activities to ensure proper counts are conducted and the inventory is accurate.
  27. Read and analyze charts, work orders, production schedules and other records / reports to determine production requirements and to evaluate current production estimates and outputs
  28. The incumbent is responsible for the awareness, understanding, specific responsibilities and management of the Environmental Management System (EMS) as stated in EMS policy CEVPL.00005.
  1. Minimum grade 12 and
  2. ASQC or Materials/Inventory Control
  3. Two - Five years work experience in a production environment
  4. Team player within multi-disciplined team.
  5. Strong organizational skill set
  6. Experience in cross functional team
  7. Knowledge of supplies, equipment, and/or services ordering, as well as inventory control of these items
  8. Experience in managing third-party service providers
  9. Strong computer skills
  10. Able to maintain filing systems, databases, and basic diary/minutes management
  11. Knowledge of local and federal regulations and ordinances
  12. Excellent analytical, problem solving skills, and decision making skills
  13. Meticulous records maintenance skills
  14. Strong interpersonal skills
  15. Strong written and verbal skills to communicate with all levels of the organization and its executive team
  16. Strong customer service orientation
  17. Ability to work with minimal supervision
  18. Ability to manage multiple projects
  19. Strong understanding and working knowledge of Inventory Control
  20. Ability of prioritize
