POSITION OVERVIEW:
This is a hybrid position supporting the Operations Manager, Manager of Commercial Administration and our team of Underwriters. Included in the role, the individual will be responsible for file maintenance, processing insurance documentation, invoicing as well as assist with a variety of administrative tasks such as reports, bordereaux entry/review, template creation, etc.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Underwriting Assistant
- Set up of new accounts (triage), attaching correspondence, setting activities, etc.
- Issue new & renewal policies, endorsements & cancellations
- Corresponding with our broker & carrier partners
- Invoice document transactions & correct discrepancies as required
- Entry of transactions (issuance) on monthly bordereaux
RESPONSIBILITIES: Operations Assistant
- Weekly reporting of results to Leadership
- Weekly/Daily Lineage batch upload & discrepancy investigation/correction
- Monthly reconciliation & communication of bordereaux as well as set up & automation of new & existing formats
- Maintain retail broker partner list & co-ordinate across our systems (Applied Epic/PW, etc.)
- Maintain carrier partner list & co-ordinate across our systems (Applied Epic/PW, etc.)
- Create & maintain issuance templates, info sheets, checklists, for various contracts & co-ordinate across our systems (Applied Epic/PW, etc.)
- Upload underwriting documentation for external audit preparation (OneDrive/Dropbox, etc.)
- Prepare new insurance wordings as required by our team of underwriters for review & approval
- Train staff with respect to various tasks & provide support for questions
REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum 3 years of commercial insurance experience.
- MS Excel, Reporting & Underwriting experience are a must.
- Insurance Program Graduate ideal.
- Preferable experience within the insurance industry.
- Focusing on a career in administration
- Focus on accuracy and detail
- Ability to be a self-starter with strong written and oral communication skills as well as organizational skills
- Excellent interpersonal/ relationship building skills and is team-oriented
- Advanced competency with MS Office 360 (Outlook, Word, Excel) & insurance software (Applied Epic/Policy Works, Online Portals, etc.)
