Position Description
Layfield Canada is looking for a high-energy Manufacturing Machine Operator to join our team. As a key member of the Production team, the Manufacturing Machine Operator is responsible for the set-up, operation, and control of bo. The successful candidate must be safety focused, team orientated, possess a strong mechanical aptitude, and a constant drive for continuous improvement. Previous machine operator experience in a manufacturing environment is a definite asset.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate the geonet & lamination machines and collaborate to optimize machine safety, quality and productivity
- Perform machine adjustments to guarantee quality product and equipment efficiency as well as perform daily maintenance activities
- Ensure all materials are available both prior to and during production runs. Responsible for the accurate recording of raw materials received and returned to stock.
- Monitor equipment performance and quality of goods produced. Reports deficiencies to manager.
- Resolve equipment malfunctions and Quality Issues.
- Responsible for the complete and accurate recording of production on the shift. This includes Shop Clock, RiteSCAN, Bartender and Unipoint.
- Maintaining a well-organized and clean work area that meets 5S requirements
Education & Experience:
- 1-3 years manufacturing or plastic extrusion experience
- Forklift certification
- Overhead Crane certification
- Completion of High School
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
- Experience operating manufacturing equipment
- Mechanically inclined
- Driven, self-starter with strong interpersonal skills
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Able to work morning and night shifts
