Irving Shipbuilding Inc. is seeking a Junior Project Controls Specialist.
This is a temporary development full-time role based in Halifax Regional Municipality, Nova Scotia. The primary language of work is English. Qualifications:
- Education: Post-secondary education in accounting or business, or related field.
- Experience with Earned Value Management (EVM) reporting preferred.
- Excellent financial acumen and attention to detail required.
- Knowledge of project management software and Microsoft suite with high proficiency in Excel and Access required.
- Excellent communication skills
All successful applicants must meet requirements for Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP), Canadian Government Security clearance, and U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). As the Junior Project Controls Specialist and member of the team, you will build and maintain performance reports for the program, interact with internal and external stakeholders, and communicate reports to the broader business. Key Responsibilities: - Loading and balancing actual costs into the organization's Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS).
- Loading and calculating Earned Value using the company's EVMS software.
- Coordinate and compile input (i.e. job progress) from in house resources and subcontractors for various weekly and monthly job progress reports.
- Create job progress reports for distribution.
- Compile Estimate to Complete (ETC) inputs.
- Gather and process schedule and cost variance data.
- Budget Change Request processing.
