Job Description
The Ottawa Blood Disease Centre at OHRI is seeking an experienced Clinical Research Assistant II to join the Hematology Research Program. The successful candidate will primarily be responsible for maintaining and adding to prospective clinical registries, and will play an active role in our busy, dynamic, diversified research group in the set-up, coordination and day-to-day management of research studies and support other team members in hematology research.
Tasks may include:
•Attending meetings for patient identification and tracking
•Informed consent discussions with potential participants
•Chart review for data extraction and data entry
•Management of database integrity and cleaning
•Patient follow-ups for response assessment and treatment outcomes and update database regularly
•Quarterly report preparation for industry and academic partners
•Research Ethics Board communication including continuing review and new study applications.
Basic Requirements (Education/Experience):
•A bachelor’s degree in a health science-related field
•2 years research experience
•Excellent interpersonal, communication and written skills, time management, organizational and critical thinking skills
•Ability to work independently and in collaboration with other team members.
•Ability to work in a virtual environment such as teleconferences, e-meeting, and video conferences.
•Accountable and accurate, with a strong sense of attention to detail
•Exceptional computer skills are a must – Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, MS Project (preferred), basic database management.
•Evidence of training certification in Tri-Council Policy Statement -2 (TCPS-2) and the International Conference on Harmonization – Good Clinical Practice Guidelines (ICH-GCP)
Preferred Qualifications:
•Some experience in database management is preferred, including data collection, data input, data analysis, quarterly report preparation.
•Bilingual in English and French is an asset.
Contract Details:
This is a 1-year full-time contract with the possibility of renewal.
Salary: Min: $25.677/hr. – Max: $30.248/hr.
