Your Role and Responsibilities
This position resides in Markham or Ottawa, ON and is a 4 month work term commencing in May 2024. It is mandatory that all applicants are enrolled in full-time studies at a post-secondary institution and returning to full-time studies upon completion of the work-term
IBM Technology Zone is the single destination for our technical go-to-market teams (Customer Success Managers, Technical Sellers, Client Engineering), business partner ecosystem, and customers to easily learn, build, customize, and share live environments with IBM technology that solve real customer problems and showcase the value of IBM
The Field Marketing Professional in our team will participate in some or all of the following:
- Promote and market IBM Technology Zone to increase awareness
- Gain perspective on how we are seen and perceived, then create a plan to build brand recognition
- Determine new communication mechanisms & create a cadence for regular distribution
- Apply creativity to determine new approaches to engage our stakeholders
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
- Understanding of go-to-market strategies and creating marketing business plans
- Understanding of various marketing and communication activities and how to apply against plan – brand recognition, channel/partner marketing, and measure, analyze and report on the impact
- Proven creativity and problem solving skills
- Experimentative – quick to pilot ideas, whether they succeed or fail, and able to scale what works
- Is passionate about people – we value a focus on relationships over experience
- Must be eligible to work 4 months starting in May
Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
- Comfortable communicating with various levels in the organization – peers, managers, Executives, Technical Sellers, Business Partners
- Strong analytical skills, and meticulous attention to detail
- Ability to stand firm on issues yet be flexible and creative when working with stakeholders to find effective solutions
- Registered in a formal co-op/internship program
