PRT has the capacity to grow and sell more than 630 million seedlings annually, with nursery locations and seed orchards across Canada & USA to support our extensive client base.

Job Description

Future forests and the environment need your help! We are hiring seasonal Nursery Workers to assist with our seasonal operations like sowing, thinning and transplanting of tree seedlings for reforestation across North America. This engaging, high paced, physical position offers a safe work environment and an opportunity to build a career that will make a positive change in the world.

What a position with PRT offers:

• Sowing, Thinning and transplanting of tiny tree seedlings to ensure high survivability of each seedling.
• Other duties may include set up of black out structures and facilities, weeding, rogueing, harvesting and any other growing related duties.
• Our PRT nurseries are vibrant and fun communities with employees who share a strong passion for the green nature of our business and doing their part in regenerating the forests of North America
• We provide a supportive, team structured environment, a strong safety culture, and a commitment to the environment.
• Project starts March 11th,2024 and will continue through the summer.
• Starting wage of $18.28/hour for standard operations.
• Full time work of 40 hours per week.
• Opportunity to join our full-time staff for ongoing work throughout the year.
• Full time crew who stays with us through the years will become eligible for medical and dental benefit coverage.

Qualifications

Successful Applicants with PRT:

• Motivated, energetic persons with ability to pay attention to detail.
• Have a positive attitude and are a team player!
• Work is meticulous and physical demanding; ability to stand for lengthy periods of time, walking, repetitive lifting, (up to 50 lbs), and the ability to perform repetitive movements is necessary.
• Appropriate clothing required; Both Indoor and outdoor work, must be able to work in varying weather conditions.
• Reliable transportation is essential as Nursery is beyond city bus service.
