The project is looking for a mid-level Cryptographic Engineer who is a self-starter and has a positive approach to problem solving to join an existing team as a Cryptographic engineer upgrading a cybersecurity system for a global financial services organization.

Your future duties and responsibilities
The successful candidate will work closely with the Sr. Security Architect to design and support implementation of a modernized cybersecurity scheme. Duties will focus on strategic planning, migration and monitoring of cryptographic KMS protecting structured data.

In coordination with the System Security Architect the Cryptographic Engineer will:
• Maintain Key Management architecture and design documents to account for replacement of Vormetric DSMs.
• Assist in required changes for Key Migration from file-based wallet and Vormetric DSM to OKV.
• Assist in development of production-ready scripts and processes to support extension of solution to new platforms.
• Assist with supporting the key management aspects of the KMS implementation – testing, updates to processes and documentation, and production readiness activities.
• Support the planning and configuration in the lower environments of KMS Upgrades to newer releases including installation, configuration and documentation activities.
• Document installation and configuration materials for Vormetric replacement, including process and procedures.
• Project activities will be tracked in Jira and/or Confluence and will be reviewed with the business owner on a weekly basis.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role
• Minimum 5 years cryptographic experience
• Understanding of Cryptography, KMS and PKI
• Basic understanding of PKI concepts (x509 digital certificates, Certificate Authorities, Trust Chains, etc.)
• Understanding of Hardware Security Modules (HSMs). Experience with Thales and/or Oracle suite of HSM and KMS products a plus.
• Understanding of industry standard protocols used to interface with HSMs and KMSs (i.e., PKCS#11, KMIP, REST API)
• Knowledge of Public Key Cryptographic Standards
• Experience with network security protocols (i.e., SSH, SSL/TLS, SCP/SFTP)
• Understanding of Cryptographic algorithms (asymmetric and symmetric)
• Experience with Key Management Lifecycle
• Knowledge of and experience with native Oracle and MSSQL TDE
• Understanding of encryption options for structured data
• A self-starter who has a positive approach to problem solving
• Collaborative mindset, and ability to work effectively within cross-functional teams
• Basic programming/scripting experience
