Bgc Okanagan provides safe and supportive spaces where children, youth and families can experience new opportunities, over come barriers, build positive relationships and build confidence and skills for life.
The Fund Development and Community Events Coordinator will play a pivotal role in planning, coordinating, and executing various external agency fundraising, sponsorship, and donor events. The Coordinator will work with the Manager of Engagement to ensure the events are aligned with the organization's goals and objectives.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop, lead, organize, implement, and evaluate agency events.
- Lead and train staff and volunteers who are involved in events and fundraising activities.
- Coordinator event logistics including set-up and tear-down.
- Organize and manage event kits for community events and fundraisers. Including sourcing and purchasing swag or branded items.
- Act as the main point of contact for events.
- Conduct post-event evaluations, create post-event reports, and implement lessons learned for future events.
- With the support of the Marketing and Communications Coordinator, assists in the development of internal and external marketing and promotional materials for special events.
- Support third-party fundraisers and community events by working with organizers and partners to ensure they have the resources to carry out successful initiatives.
- Assist with the development and maintenance of corporate relationships. Seeks sponsorship, solicits donations, and recruits participants for the event.
- Represents the Agency in a positive and professional manner to potential supporters and within the community.
- Support other club staff in implementing special events for families and the community.
- Ensure all events are managed within the assigned budget by tracking expenses and identifying cost savings.
- Assist with the data entry into the Donor Management System and generate monthly reports related to donations.
Lead the Adopt a Family Program working with the team across the valley to ensure families and donors are matched to meet family’s food needs during the holidays.
Qualifications:
- Certificate or Diploma in tourism or event management plus two years of experience in executing fundraising, sponsorship, or event activities.
- Not-for-profit experience is considered an asset.
- The demonstrated ability to lead and motivate staff and volunteers in support of the fundraising goals, and organization of special events.
A basic knowledge of budgeting processes and advanced computer skills.

Rate of Pay : $51,000 salary per year, benefits and RRSP
