Classification & Salary Range: Health Sciences Association (HSA) COMMUNITY sub-sector Grid 21 (commensurate with education and experience)
Status: Temporary part time 25 hours/week; .67 FTE
Program: The Autism Program (TAP)
Start Date: July 17, 2023-September 25, 2023 (or until return of incumbent)
Closing Date: June 26, 2023 or until position is filled
Job Summary:
BIs are an important part of a child’s team and they work with other professionals like behaviour consultants, speech-language pathologists and occupational therapists. The successful applicant will work under the direct supervision of the Autism Program Lead. The position will implement service plans prepared by the Behaviour Consultant for individual and small group intervention. This position will also assist in the planning of daily activities to achieve the program objectives identified in the Behaviour Plan.
Position Qualifications:
This position requires Grade XII and documented recent training in Autism, such as workplace trainings or independent professional development opportunities in autism within the last two years (ex: ACT trainings, Autism BC trainings, college or university coursework). Preference will be given to candidates who have been trained in Applied Behavioural Analysis (ABA), and have a minimum of two years’ experience in working with children who require extra support in a family-centred service delivery model.
