Controller
Our client is searching for a Controller to join their team in Calgary. The successful candidate serves as a key member of the finance team, responsible for overseeing all aspects of financial management, including accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, and internal controls. The role is critical for organization as it ensures accuracy, transparency, and compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations.
Your success will be defined by your ability to: - Oversee the day-to-day operations of the accounting department, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and payroll.
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, for internal use and external reporting.
- Manage processing of vendor invoices, customer payments, and monitoring accounts receivable aging.
- Perform month-end and year-end close activities including preparing journal entries, reconciling accounts, and analyzing financial data.
- Evaluate, implement, and maintain financial systems to improve efficiency and accuracy in financial reporting and analysis.
Your strengths include: - Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field.
- CPA designation is preferred.
- Proficient in Quick Books.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple priorities.
